ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION
OCICATS of EUROPE is an organization of breeders to promote and evaluate the Ocicats' Standard (English version)/Ocicat Standard (Deutsche Version) in Europe.
Our Members and Breeders Updated
Members from Austria, Germany, France, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Hungary, and many more countries in Europe joined our organization. We even have now overseas members from Canada, USA and other countries.But still the Ocicat is not a very large group within the shorthair category and we are challenging the task to increase the number of Ocicat breeders in Europe.
Our History
Our organization was founded in 1991, when the first Ocicats arrived in Europe from America.One of our first exciting tasks was to bring all the breeders together to show their cats on the recognition Show in Nuremberg, Germany.
Within FIFe the Ocicat was recognized in 1992 in Budapest. That means that the Ocicat got full championship status.
The first FIFe Euro Ch. is Zohara's Sepherina, a tawny spotted female, owned by Mrs. Waltraut Sattler.
The first CFA Grand, bred within FIFe, is Galax Moon Dancer, a chocolate spotted female, owned by Suvi Pohjola-Stenroos & Esa Stenroos.
